Hurrican Katrina came horribly close to harming me and my family in our hour of our own horror and shock and my Daddy's death. The threat of the hurricane on my poor, wounded families hearts was almost too much to bare. The fact that Katrina could have swept over my home and my way of life, flooding all of it, not even a day after my father's surprising death- was a horrible fear that I didn't take seriously (probably from shock) until after the destruction had been made.

I was very greatful for the safety of my own family, and am still very glad that we did not fall under even more horrible misfortune. Since I am still young, and probably without the full understanding of a natural disaster, I will simply say that I am sorry for what has happened...

I do not believe God does things to harm us. I do not believe that our Lord is cruel, and rips from us that which we hold dear, like marrionettes. There is a purpose, a reason, a cause- for everything that he does. From one event, a new, greater thing will occur. There is a plan for all of us- the Lord does not delight in our sorrows... He is ever loving, ever loved.

In this picture... I suppose Katrina is the woman, and the hurricane, but she's sad because of the thing she must do- tough choices, I know. And perhaps she knows of the plan God has for us, maybe not? I'd like to think that even she would shed tears, even with full knowledge of good things to come in the future.
